Comanche controls question
I have a 2005 Comanche loaded body. What happened to the neck is a mystery. The third pot, the one nearest the output jack, turns 360°. No stops on either end of the travel like most pots. Is this the way this pot was made or is it broken? Thank you

It is definitely broken. That is the Bass rolloff pot. You can get a replacement from the G&L On-Line Store. Here is the link (which opens in a new tab): electronics.Steveot wrote:I have a 2005 Comanche loaded body. What happened to the neck is a mystery. You want either a solid shaft pot or a split shaft pot depending upon what is currently there.
The pot type you need is the "1MegC - 1 Meg Reverse Audio Taper", but double check the current broken pot value.
Hope this helps.

Re: Comanche controls question
A lot of times you can actually fix the pot. They guts are held in by little tabs on the casing. if you push down on the knob too hard, you can push the guts out of the case, causing the forever-loose-as-a-goose spin. Just push the guts back into the casing till it sits right, then re-bend the tabs to hold it together again.
That's worked for me a couple of times over the years.
It's worth taking a look. If the pot guts seem to be hanging out - that's probably the problem, and the fix is quite simple.
Just my two cents
