Hello from MN!
I have a specific question re: wiring potentiometers on a G&L Tribute Legacy:
- Most of the schematics and drawings I've reviewed show:
- Common Lug on 5 way switch to lug 1 on Treble-Cut Pot (500k)
- Lug 1 on Treble-Cut Pot to Lug 2 on Bass-Cut Pot (1megC)
- Lug 3 on Bass-Cut Pot to Lug 3 on Volume Pot (250k)
- Lug 2 on the volume pot to jack output
The 3 different G&L Tributes that I have rewired recently are wired differently. The differences:
- Lug 1 on the Treble-Cut pot is wired to Lug 3 on the Bass-Cut pot
- Lug 2 on the Bass-Cut pot is wired to Lug 3 on the Volume pot
My questions are:
Does it make any difference whether the the "input (common to Lug 1 of Treble-Cut pot)" is wired to Lug 2 or Lug 3 on the Bass-Cut pot?
If so, why are the Tributes wired in this manner when most schematics and drawings from G&L show the reverse?
Thank you in advance for any help with this question. Google searches weren't shedding much light on whether it would make any difference to wire the pot one way or another.
