The place to discuss, post photos, video, and audio of the G&L products (US instruments, stomp boxes, etc.) produced after 1991, including the amps & gear we use with them.
Since you don't see these too often, here a couple of shots of my latest acquisition: ASAT '50 #1. It does work to place a wanted ad in the Market Place! Much to my surprise, there was a member of this forum who wanted to part with his ASAT '50. As an unexpected bonus, the COA turned out to have an additional signature (see picture). Me never having played an Esquire, these guitars have rather interesting electronics. With the 3-way switch in the neck position, a lot of highs are filtered out and the tone control does not seem to have any effect. Very warm kind of tone, very musical. Similar thing is true for the switch in the neck position, but in this case no highs are rolled-off. Bark, bite, the kind of tone you expect from an ASAT Classic bridge pickup. The tone control does work in the middle position where in essence you can smoothly move from the 'bridge' tone to the 'neck' tone, but with a little more highs left in that case.
Another fine creation by Mr. Buffalo Brothers, Tim Page

See the Rarebirds in the registry for all of Tim's creations: ASAT '50, ASAT Z-2, ASAT Blues Boy, and ASAT Trinity. Each and every one of these models are exquisite guitars and very rare. Harkening back to a different recent thread on what the most desirable G&L's are, these Buffalo Brothers Special Editions have always been near the top of my list. But then again, I'm biased ...

Tim, once more thanks for putting these guitars together as a labor of love. And I love all the little historical tidbits about them. Funny thing is, I always thought that the reissued Fender thermometer guitar case you once in a while find on eBay at a price north of $250 was expensive Now, the only task left is finding that elusive Z-2 ...
Didn't James Burton use an Esquire on some Ricky Nelson records, before he used a Telecaster? Or was that Steve Cropper who used one before a Telecaster?
