Just took delivery of a discounted ASAT with a chip in the finish.
I thought this was interesting in terms of how thick the finish layer is. Almost looks like a candy shell!
Also interesting is the clear substance that seems to be on the perimeter of the damage.
Anyone know what that might be?

I think I'll leave it alone rather than try to repair it, unless someone has a sure-fire luthier's trick for filling holes of this size.
