I purchased a used SB2. All I know about it - it has the newer 6 bolt neck. Serial number is CLF42948.
I need to know what year it is and I would also like to get a replacement certificate.
Any ideas?

For a replacement certificate, go to the G&L Online Store. AFAIK, the S/N dates the bass to 2006 when they did NOT provide a spec sheet. Incidentally, it woud make this SB-2 a bass from the first year of using a 6-bolt neck attachment. The SB-2 had a 3-bolt neck attachment certainly until 2005, possible even (part of) 2006, while most other basses had transferred to a 6-bolt (or 4-bolt for the JB introduced in 2009) about a decade earlier.

If you want to find out the completion date on your bass, you might contact Memo (Service Manager) at the factory.Hounddog409 wrote:I purchased a used SB2. All I know about it - it has the newer 6 bolt neck. Serial number is CLF42948.

Here is the contact info: Tech_Support .
You can order a replacement COA from the G&L On-Line Store, see:

Here is the Internet Archives for the 2006 G&L website page for the SB-2 specs:

Hope this helps.
