Gibson buys Mesa Boogie

Post by sam »

Say it ain’t so!!

Saw this today and as a long time Boogie fan this just doesn’t sit well. Understand Randall Smith is getting older but never saw this coming.

As they say, “Everything’s for sale.” and this is another example. Even Steely Dan said “Everything Must Go”...

Time will tell what happens, look for their next amp model, the Les Mark I

Sam,

Like you, I am also a big Mesa/Boogie fan. But Gibson ... No, that just doesn't sit well ...

Kind of disappointing to be sure.
Hopefully Mesa's day to day operations will continue as normal. I would hate to see wholesale changes that cheapen the brand.

So sad to see this happen. Gibson can't run their own company and keep it out of bankruptcy much less Mesa Boogie. So glad I decided to order a Mark V 25 last year before all this happened. If my past experiences with Gibson are any indication of what's ahead, expect a sharp decline in quality followed by a large inceease in price.
