saddle height of G&L saddle lock bridge?

Post by anguitar77 »

Hi I am trying to find out what the saddle height is on the G&L saddle lock bridge? I plan on using this bridge on a guitar I'm building and need to know for neck placement etc.

Thanks!

Setting up the height of the saddles is highly correlated to how you set up the action on your guitar. This ties in with the relief in the neck and your desired height of the low and high E-strings above the 12th fret. The saddles in between the outer 2 saddles should be set such that your strings at the bridge follow your neck radius. For the latter, a radius gauge is a extremely handy tool to have around. So in principle any height might do. Be aware that you also might want to change the height of the pickups in the end to balance the sound and avoid unwanted string damping due to too close proximity to the pickups (which causes induction currents that suck the energy out of the vibration).

Hope this helps.
