because of tuning issues (mostly low E going about 50 cents out of tune) i'm replacing an old and worn low nut.
i was going to use the graphtech nut like this
https://graphtech.com/products/tusq-slo ... 5069904929
it's the closest measurement to the SC-2 i could find. bummer that the nut isn't flat at the bottom. i've replaced 2 other nuts before in my life and i think this one will require the most sanding. radius.
any suggestions on replacement nuts and process?

See: Are G&L nuts curved or flat on the bottom?. In particular, see discussion on whether it is ok to flatten a curved nut slot.cporro wrote:because of tuning issues (mostly low E going about 50 cents out of tune) i'm replacing an old and worn low nut.

Re: replacement nut '84 SC-2
thx i hadn't considered filing that down. would need a taller replacement nut. as of now i just used the measurements on the old nut. seems like filing down that middle bit on the graph tech nut would be the easiest way to go. but guess i'll figure that out when i get there. a new nut is only $15. but if i don't file the neck perfect i can see that being trouble. dunno.
