1980's ASAT or 1990's ASAT?

Post by abas8194 »

Hello,

I just purchased a "80's ASAT" and waiting on delivery 2/5/2020. I have the SN G045402, and the instrument appears to be in fantastic condition. I do have 72 hour window for return for whatever reason I decide I am not wanting the instrument so I am looking for a little bit of help from some of you who surely know more about these than I do.

First, the SN appears to be more inline with others in the 1990's rather than the 1980's based on what I a seeing. This said, I have also read that the SN's don't align as well as they could, so I am unsure if this is a red flag or not. I have photo's I can share, but not sure how to do that so I can email pictures if that is helpful for anyone.

Again, I am totally in the dark here so any help/thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Andrew

I'm guessing your right in assessing it as a 90's guitar,
...maybe you can wheel and deal if you like it.

Hiya, go ahead and send private message me regarding emailing photos. I can tell you what you have. As Elwood said, its probably a 90's guitar tho there many
'transition' G&L out there utelising bodies, necks leftover from the Leo-era days...

All,

Appreciate the comments here. I learned this morning from an email reply from G&L that the SN is from a 1995 model. I guess I will address this with the folks at Guitar Center.

Thanks again!
