Output jack ASAT Special

Post by anteriorl5 »

G L online store sold out the barrel output jacks in mono so I ordered a Switchcraft jack that I thought would work. It's not nearly long enough to get to the control cavity. What I have is 1 1/2" long and need 2 1/2" to secure it inside the cavity with the lock nut. Looks like the G L part is too short too. What gives? ASATs need a special jack? Not seeing anything long enough online....or is it just a friction fit tapped in with no holding nut?

The jack is not secured by a nut for the G&L guitars. They ship the jack with a piece of string that you wrap around the jack and press it into the hole. The string secures the jack to the wood via friction.

For jack replacement, see this post in our G&L Knowledgebase: How do I remove the output jack from my ASAT-style guitar?

Hope this helps.
