Since about 2001 the US DFV trem block and saddles have been chrome plated brass.
Prior to that, they were die-cast (zinc), except for a short period when the trem block
was steel (they were painted black).
The DFS Vibrato System made its debut on the 30th Anniversary (2010) F-100 and
Legacy models and was optional on other USA G&L guitars through 2015. The trem block
was CNC machined from solid 1018 cold-rolled steel. The saddles were CNC machined
from 303 non-magnetic stainless steel billet material.
The DFS Vibrato System was discontinued after December 2015.
The Tribute Series DFV bridges have brass trem block and die-cast saddles (chrome plated).
