Very interesting interview with Don Randall from 1992. Leo would have been happy with a million and a half for Fender ! I know next to nothing about the man , now I'm curious.

Interesting- Probably not possible to know the whole and complete story at this point, but very insightful commentary from him.
Another interesting point from one of the comments- I also recognized (from my limited time in the studio, years later) that G&L seem to be favored instruments of studio guitarists- another brand that springs to mind on those lines is Godin.
