Just realized on my '83 F100 - There is hole (identical to the ones to pass wires between the cavity and pickup routes) between the neck pickup, and neck pocket routing (from the corner of the neck pocket route to the corner of the neck pickup route.)
Was there a reason for this? There was nothing in it, but I wonder if it could have been used to ground the Microtilt system. Was there any grounding such as that, or was this hole used in some other way?
EDIT: I think this was used as the start point of the drilling between neck pickup & control cavity. Seems aimed at the same place.

Re: Neck Pickup/Neck Pocket Tunnel?
I'm guessing that you are correct that the drill started at the neck pocket and went to the control cavity. That would have been the easiest way to get a straight route and wouldn't be noticeable.
