Nitro Finishes - Date Range?

Post by Danley »

I have a late-80s (87 per the body tag) pickguard/Strat-style SC3 . Would the bodies/necks have been finished in nitro during this era?

Wondering if I can attempt a finish repair on the headstock with some black nitro I have.

See this post in our G&L Knowledgebase: Finish processes, how we did it then by Fred Finisher.

Also, check out Greg Gagliano's G&L page:http://www.ggjaguar.com/gnl.htm.

So, it definitely could have a nitro finish.

Hope this helps.
