Dave McLaren's 1984 HG-2 ...

Post by Craig »

Dave McLaren's rare 1984 HG-2 came in for setup. He thinks he'll keep it in our Live! At Leo's studio which would be totally cool.
The HG-2 is similar to the SC-3 of the era, but the HG-2 is rare due to its MFD mini humbuckers, cousins of the mid '80s G&L Cavalier angled mini humbuckers.

Very cool.

Next time I'm at the factory, I'll have to check it out.

Very , very cool. Those guitars ( control plate, no hook headstock ) really set those pre-BBE G&L's apart. Would love to hear what that HG-2 sounds like. Did a double take when I saw it on the instagram feed.

I love the black body and maple fretboard! My favorite combination! Kind of like Gilmour's guitar... Most people think those pickups are too bright, but I love them.
