I have found a nice ASAT from a reputable seller that is priced right.
My concern is that the neck is "U" shape. According to the seller the neck is not as beefy as say a 52 Fender reissue neck. Still, I have some concern as a medium U (as on the Thin Skin teles) is okay.
However, I would have issue with a baseball bat sized neck. Generally, how do the "U" shape necks on ASATs feel? (sorry, I do not have the neck # from the seller and have asked).

According to the seller it is the "modern u".
Will it be baseball bat thick?

Did you check the specs on the G&L web page?

I've never played one but the specs don't look too thick.

Your typical baseball bat neck is something like 0.93" at the nut to 1" at the 12th fret. The G&L modern U isn't anywhere near that fat. I've not ever played one, but would imagine from the specs that it'd feel much the same as the old #1 neck, but a touch rounder.

For information on the neck sizes and options over the years, see: What are the USA neck size options, past and present?.
Hope this helps.
