NGD! USA ASAT Special....

Post by Horax »

Just took delivery today on a brand new G&L asat special.

Awesome guitar! Wasn't fond of the neck size at first, but then I played it and couldn't stop. Build quality is amazing, and better than my USA fender tele from 2013. Still love that one, but this one is just another notch above.

It's ruby red metallic with the jumbo mfd pickups. These are very hot pickups that sound amazing. Very different from the alnico pickups that I'm used to. However, they play dirty blues like nobody's business!

So glad I tried this. Was nervous dropping the money on something I couldn't try prior, but my fears have more than been allayed.
Rolled fret edges and fret job is second to none. The case is top notch quality, and everything is rock solid on this.

Love the G&L!

The 12 radius will become yer friend before you know it, and the big MFD's are just magic.

thx! It's actually a 9.5" radius. ;)

I was put off aesthetically by the jumbo MFD's in pictures, but when you have the guitar in hand, they're not that big and crazy looking.

Thanks Horax, for some reason I thought you had mentioned it had a 12 so I didn't even read the sheet. Regardless, she's a looker and you love it!!

I'm finding that for some reason it makes me want to try things my other guitars don't...it's a combination of the pickups and how they interact
with my amps, but I also think it's the setup...it plays so nicely that I'm more comfortable going outside my comfort zones.
