Let me just start by saying I SCORED a 90's era, 3-bolt neck LB-100 fretless, with original case, from the used section of GC. When I went to pick it up, I noticed that the neck had slots filed into the board as if someone had started to line an unlined freltess, then quit.
Somebody on another board said that this was an old option called Ghost Lines. I always thought ghost lines were lined fretless boards.
Can anyone clear this up for me? Point being, that I think it's an unfinished neck, and therefor, negotiating a refund or credit with GC. I'm an honest guy though, so if this was a factory option, I'll drop it with them.

Your photo is too small to see, but from your description, I would suspect that the bass was originally fretted and a previous owner removed the frets but did not put in any ghostline inlays.BlushResponse wrote:Let me just start by saying I SCORED a 90's era, 3-bolt neck LB-100 fretless, with original case, from the used section of GC. Thanks Craig. I searched this site and missed the link you posted. From what I've picked up here and in other forums, the option to have unfilled slots as "ghost lines" from the G&L factory, was a real thing. It looks like this LB100 is the real deal with factory ghost lines with no white inlays. Mystery is solved!
