New Pots on Left-Handed Bluesboy NEED HELP PLEASE!

Post by krugerj »

Hi all,

Right, so I have a Left handed USA Bluesboy which (sadly) comes stock with right-handed pots -- meaning both the volume and tone are both either 100% on or 100% off. That being said, I need to replace them with left handed pots (at least the tone with reverse-audio taper, and wire a linear volume in reverse). This is a question about impedance (I think that's what it's called):

Do I replace both the volume and tone with 500k pots?

I know the general rule of thumb, 250k with single coils, 500k with humbuckers, but this is a situation where there are both humbuckers and single coils in the equation...

What should I do?

Thanks
1994 USA G&L Legacy

Other guitars:
2019 Oswald OT/OS, 2018 Eastman SB59/v, 2015 Suhr Classic S, 1999 PRS Custom 22, 1977 Greco SE 700 hardtail
Amps: Carr Telstar, NeuralDSP, HX Stomp/Helix Native
And way, way too many pedals

As I understand, you bought this used and it is likely that a previous owner wired the pots (perhaps replacements?) incorrectly.
See: http://www.guitarsbyleo.com/FORUM/viewt ... 1d0#p87396.
Also, use the Search function. I used the keywords "lefty +pots" for this one post I mentioned.

Hope this helps.
