Comanche with reverse mounted controls

Post by Challenger »

This Comanche with reverse mounted controls recently shipped to premier dealer Guitarworks in Indiana. Is this going to become an available option for the Comanche? Will other models be available with reverse mounted controls?

Please tell me the answers are yes and yes!

Nice to see some cool spalting, the rear mounting (option?) makes for
a nice showcase of the figured woods.
It looks like a winning combo

Oh, I haven't seen that one before. :searching:
It didn't make it on G&L's Facebook page nor the Inventory list.

This is definitely a special build being that the top body wood looks to be Spalted Alder.

The first RMC special builds showed up on G&L's Facebook page last year, see: Bluesy Deluxe?.

In March this year, the Legacy HSS RMC and Legacy HH RMC models were added to standard production, see: Some photos of the new Legacy RMC models ....

G&L has done some ASAT HH RMC as special builds. Here's one that showed up in November on G&L Facebook page:
Here's an ASAT HH RMC in Himalayan Blue over swamp ash, rear contour, OLS body depth, quartersawn maple neck with Light Tint Gloss finish, locking tuners.
CLF079017 is headed to Durdel's Music in Toledo, Ohio.

I asked Dave about the ASAT HH RMC and he said:
ASAT HH RMC will be coming. There will be a few small runs before it's formally launched.
ASAT HH RMC I don't think will replace ASAT Deluxe; I think that one will stay as is.
I will ask Dave if the Comanche RMC will be coming as a standard production model.

Thanks for posting this.

Guitarworks shared this Comanche on their Facebook page a couple days ago. They said it was the first Comanche to have reverse mounted controls. They indicated it is spalted maple on top of an ash body. I know the spalted maple is a special run, but was wondering about the RMC in general as an option.

I spotted another Comanche with RMC in Blueburst. It is listed on eBay by a dealer in Maine.

I'm not seeing the PTB mini-toggle. Is one of the knobs a push-pull?

I have finally gotten an answer from Dave on this:
Hi Craig,

There is no standard model, however; the few that have been made were special request by sales manager, Ron Moreno.

Thanks, Craig.

Dave

Here is the other one floating around. I'd love to order a special run of these, who's in?
