G&L Sc-300 from 1983 what can it be?

The place to discuss, post photos, video, and audio of the G&L instruments produced from 1980 to 1991, including the amps & gear we use with them.

Looks like an SC-3, does the headstock say "300"?
Probably just the seller mistyping the model.
(there were sc-300 decals made but they never went into production)

BigBoki,

There is the SC-3 which is the model you show. And then there is the S-300 (as this one on Reverb.com). You'll notice the main difference is that for losing a 'C' you get an additional tone control back ;-)

- Jos
P.S. For the S-300, see also these pictures in the Gallery.

Thank you very much for all the info,
I searched the forums and read treads regarding S-300.
Waiting for response from seller. Will keep you posted if I manage to see it.

You also get a very expensive bump in the headstock.

I would say it's an '87 SC-3. They didn't start painting all the necks until 1986. In 1983 they were still making the Mustang type bodies, the Strat style did not start until 1984. I don't think they were painting any necks on the SC-3 at that time. Looks like a nice guitar though. Get the serial number and look it up in the registry to see if it's listed.

^ Agreed with Tom.

I have an '87 SC-3 in Viking Blue. INCREDIBLE guitar! Let us know how you like it if you decide to buy it.
