Nitro Legacy is amazing

Post by gwayne64 »

Long time since I've posted here...
I've always had a soft spot for G&L and have owned many ASATs, but never found a Legacy that did anything for me. That changed recently when my nephew bought an off-the-rack Legacy with modern classic neck. I loved the neck but what really floored me were the Gagon AlNiCO pickups. I have finally found the Str@t tone I'v been looking for - crystal clear and chimey but also sounds fantastic with some dirt. After playing my nephew's for days, I decided to see what was out there. I originally planned on building one in old school tobacco but came across the "limited" nitro finished ones. I looked at several and finally settled on a Fiesta Red with mint guard and knobs. It is as perfect a guitar as I've ever had - just a joy and it makes me want to keep on playing. It may actually unseat my Nash T as my go-to guitar.

Outdoors where the lighting really accentuated the "mint". It is not that green:

Love it. Nothing beats Fullerton Red...except maybe blonde.

Great looking guitar! In my view, G&L AlNiCo V pickups are about the best production pickups on the market.

Man, absoLUTEly. I've played a ton of different boutique offerings and Fender Custom Shop options and none of them could touch these. I am still amazed at the clarity, chime, and range of tones with the PTB system. I have an older 3-bolt Legacy Special, but these are two totally different guitars IMO.
