The place to discuss, post photos, video, and audio of the G&L products (US instruments, stomp boxes, etc.) produced after 1991, including the amps & gear we use with them.

G&L Legacy-US or Indonesian????

Post by jazzsinger »

Hi....I have been looking at a G&L Legacy guitar on Ebay Australia.
The person that is selling it says the body+neck is made in Indonesia
and assembled in US.The front of head stock says (G&L Legacy) with the
words Tribute Series under the G&L logo....The back of the head stock says
in a circle-G&L Guitars at top and Indonesia at bottom....The serial No.120711155
goes thru the middle of circle....

I'm saying that it's Indonesian made with US,hardware and Electrics....

Cheers....

It is made and assembled in Indonesia. The Legacy pickups are made in Fullerton, CA USA and supplied to the Indonesian factory, all other parts and woods are supplied by
the Indonesian factory. After they are made in Indonesian, they are shipped to the Fullerton factory for final inspection and setup before being shipped to dealers.

All MFD pickups and Legacy pickups are made at the G&L factory in Fullerton, CA and are the exact same ones used for the USA models. The G&L Alnico Humbucker and P-90 pickups
are built to G&L's specs at the Indonesian factory.

See: What is the new Tribute series which G&L announced in 2003? and Why the change in manufacturing location for the Tributes?.

Hope this helps.
