Errant Click / Pop Tribute Legacy

Post by duffman »

New owner of a Candy Apple Red Tribute Legacy.
Having a bit pf a problem. From time to time there is a clicking or popping sound when playing coming from this guitar.
Its not the cable, nor is it the guitar wiring.
Have gone through this guitar myself and had a tech check it over.

Just read about static discharge from a pick guard. Could this be it?
If so would removing the plastic pickup covers help? Not super fond of them anyway.
Or should I copper foil the back of the pick guard and run a ground wire to it?

Thanks

you could shield and ground the pick guard ..... I usually just rub the PG with a drier sheet , smells good too , lol
