Well, thanks guys. Maybe for that price ...

But then again, I have Dale's #1 already as well as John Rodriguez' #26. That 2 out of 7. Don't you guys think that's enough? ;-)

Something I want but doubt I can afford it for what it might go for.

Are any of you going to try to outbid me?

Hey Fumble,

How did you find this auction? If I do a search for it nothing comes up. I can get to it from your link but get stuck in UK Ebay.
Kind of a weird thing really...

I was wondering the same, ebay UK must be a separate entity .I might have to try signing up just to watch what's
trading across the pond.

I love the story behind #5. Dale loved making guitarists happy, and loved making sales...he was good at both, even it means selling
from his collection...wow!
The article in the auction photo's mention Dale tending to Leo's needs when parkinsons was getting to him.
I doubt there was a bad bone in his body. ;)
I'm going to suggest we revamp the banner at the top of our discussion pages to include a picture of Dale.
Maybe have a separate thread with design input, polls, etc

Jos, I commend your restraint...even if temporary

Please please please let me buy this guitar. I know it's unfair to ask but please don't bid against me.

BTW...The seller took the auction down.

Thanks...

He had to re-list it to give me the ability to bid. He put no shipping to the US in the original auction and when I tried to bid it said I couldn't. So yes, it's back up but SHHHHH. I must have it. Hopefully I can afford it. It's gonna be a long three days.

Well, I was trying to take a GAS break for a while because I have some pretty awesome G&L guitars. But...you don't see a Lacewood come up for sale too often, and when something like this does happen we usually hear about it because Jos bought it!! (just a little fun Jos, I am amazed by your collection and proud and privileged to be able to get your expertise, as well as all the rest on this forum).

So we will see how high it goes, I do have a limit but you never know, hopefully the G&L GAS Gods are smiling down at me and it all works out well. Of course the shipping and customs nightmare is another story.

Well, it looks like this one won't be mine anytime soon. It's up to $6K with two hours to go and that's just too much for me unfortunately. I would have to sell most of my wonderful guitars and it's just not gonna happen that way. It may end up selling for $10K or more.

However, look to some good news soon, there's always a consolation prize...right?

Tom,

Always remember, a guitar is only worth what someone will pay.

On yer end however, any new guitar is good news! Post pics of yours when it arrives. :alright:

Winning bid: 7845.48.

Not mine, it went to a guy in the UK. Surprisingly, there were not more than four bidders for this guitar.

Could have been 5, but as promised, I stayed out. ;-)

Went for a fair price I think. Sorry you didn't get it Tom.
