Polishing out a satin neck and headstock

Post by guitar1580 »

I have a very fine polishing compound / swirl remover that I've used to hand buff satin necks on my Martin acoustics. I've actually buffed out satin bodies and tops as well. I prefer the gloss look and feel over the satin.

I'm wondering if anyone has polished out a satin neck on a newer G&L guitar. What I'm mostly concerned about is the headstock. I don't want to get into the logo / decal. On the Martins, I carefully polish right over the logo, with no issues, and they have a fairly thin finish, as it appears the G&L does as well.

If anyone has done this, please let me know.
