St Pats GAS- Rare Find- Not G&L

Post by darwinohm »

Is it proper to post pictures of another brand here? I found a 1988 Fender Tanquery Strat and brought it home. It is a model that Fender built in 1988 for the Tanquery Gin company. The build number is estimated to be from 100 to 250 and were never for sale. Sources claim that Tanquery gave away 100 as a prize to their distributors or sales people. The one I found is in excellent+ condition. The people who like the old G&LDP should love this color. What a find for St Pats day. Let me know if its okay and I will post pictures tomorrow. It is a hard color to photograph. It was setup terrible. Apparently the owner wanted a hard tail, there were 5 springs on the tremolo. After a 2 hour setup it plays fantastic. The neck is in perfect condition including the truss rod. Thanks-- Darwin

Darwin, I don't see why it's not kosher to post a pic of another brand.
We love out G&L's but can also appreciate other brands.

Kind of like loving your significant other, but when someone really attractive walks by, you just gotta peek.... :D

Nope! Not here, after all this is the G&L Porn!!! forum. If it's okay with Dave (aka Darth Invader), I will create a separate forum for non G&L instruments Porn.

Stay tuned.

I'm still waiting to hear back from Dave. Perhaps he will see this and let us know. ;)

Thank you Craig and Dave. I think it is important for others to see what us G&L owners have in our collections. I was a die hard Fender guy. Two years ago I traded a Fender American Tele for an American Legacy. I was aware of G&L but because of such a limited amount of dealers in the Minneapolis area we are not able to see a lot of them. This forum is a wonderful source for photos and information on the G&L product. I have a variety of guitars but having only been exposed to the product for 2 years, G&L now is 10 of my 40 (38 keepers, 2 for art). I think that certainly speaks for the G&L quality. I have 9 American and 1 Tribute. I am very impressed with the quality of the Tribute. It is a good bang for the buck. As my wife allows I will continue to collect more G&Ls. So thanks to the both of you again!!- I would bet that my story in not unusual for the intro to the G&L product.--- Darwin.
