2005 Legacy: CLF-100 Alnicos by Paul Gagnon?

Post by timacn »

Hello. I have an opportunity to purchase a 2005 G&L Legacy in great condition. I was wondering if Legacys from that year had
Paul Gagnon designed CLF-100 Alnico V pickups which are the same as those used today. If the Legacy design has changed significantly since 2005, I would prefer to buy a new legacy.

Any help or insights you could give to me on this question would be most appreciated.

Thanks.

Yes, a 2005 G&L Legacy will have the CLF-100 pickups, which are built at the Fullerton, CA factory. See these posts: List of pickups used in G&L guitars and How are G&L pickups currently made?.

In mid-2006, the necks and truss-rod changed. See these posts: About the truss rod and About non-compression truss rod and Plek.

Beginning in July of this year, there was a significant change to the neck specifications and options, plus the addition of separate fretboard radius options.
For the current specifications, see: July 1, 2015-present G&L U.S. Specifications and Options.

Hope this helps.
