Hi all,
I've had a Legacy for over 20 years now but when I purchased it, there was no documentation like the Certificates offered on the G&L site. I don't dare take it apart to find the date in the neck pocket so I'm using when I bought it and the SN to try and date it's age as best I can. Also, I'm not positive what trim level it is either. Here's what I know at this time:
G&L Legacy
SN G031270
Purchased: Around 1991-1993
Color: red/maroon with white pickguard
Fretboard: Rosewood
Neck: satin finish, (I believe it was originally clear but it has a yellow tint now but I recall it being whiter when I bought it)
Other: Currently setup for 12G strings.
Anyway, waiting as I type for the email for the registry and I'll be entering it as soon as I get setup there.
Thanks in advance.

It would be helpful if you would post a photo or two of your Legacy. For photo posting info, see: Welcome! Read This First.Weatherby wrote:Hi all,

The Legacy first came into production in 1992, so it would likely be a first or second year production. See: Dating My Legacy and Production List of G&L Instruments (USA).
Take a look at the G&L Catalogs we have in the Album: Ad Slicks and Memorabilia in the Gallery for 1992-93 and 1993-94 for some more details.
The stock production pickups for 1992-94 production was the Seymour Duncan SSL Vintage (flats) pickups. See: List of pickups used in G&L guitars.
Hope this helps.
