I wanted to order new USA Legacy but I have no idea which neck shape will fit. My hands end are huge - slim but long (mid finger is 9cm, hand from the wrist to the finger is 12cm). I have been trying to match sth from American Fenders (AM std, AM deluxe, Clapton strat with V neck and some Fender teles) and the most comfortable was Fender American Vintage '59 Stratocaster with "D" Shape neck. Which of G&L available shapes nneck will be the best choice for me?
Here are Vintage '59 neck specs:
Radius: 7.25"
Nut Width: 1.650"
21mm at 1st fret, 24,4 at 12th, "more D in shape, altogether more 'modern' feeling than the thmore D in shape, altogether more 'modern' feeling than the V".
G&L profiles:

Re: Neck shape similar to "D"
Your thicknesses, of 21 and 24.4 are both exact matches for both the Classic C and the Classic Plus C from G&L ( 0.83 x 25.4 = 21.08, and 0.96 x 25.4 = 24.38).
The 1.65 nut you mention seems unusual for Fender; could this be a slightly underweight 1.68 (1 11/16"), or slight measurement inaccuracy?
The alternative would be 1.625 (1 5/8"), although I would be careful if your hands are large. 1 5/8 is about the smallest nut width that anyone can handle!
Best fit G&Ls would seem to be:
Classic Plus C (exact thickness match, nut slightly wider than your figures)
or
Classic C (same thicknesses, nut slightly narrower than your reference).
You can have any of G&l's radius options with any of their profiles.
Perhaps wise to try a few more necks for nut widths, to be double-check and be sure of what you like?

May I have G&L Legacy Modern U neck (back) photos? Or Heritage '86 maybe?
