Graphite Metallic Finish

Post by RYAN1987M »

Hello,

I have a beautiful G&L Legacy finished in Graphite Metallic with a Satin Frost top coat.

The guitar came to me with a 1-ply black pickguard and black plastics. I'm looking to lighten it up a bit for a change.

I'm torn between a white pickguard and a mint pickguard - with either option, I'd go with a 3-ply pickguard and matching plastics.

Anyhow, I'd like to know your thoughts on the matter!

Thanks,

Ryan

By the way, does anyone know of a good source for obtaining plastics for a G&L Legacy (USA Series)?

I'll source the pickguard from Pickguard Heaven - but I'll also need to buy pickup covers, Volume & Tone knobs, and a selector switch tip.

In the past, I bought those plastics directly from the G&L online store - however it seems that the prices went up drastically.

My previous order from April 2015 -
3 pickup covers - $11.85 USD
3 knobs - 3 x $2.95 - $8.85 USD
1 selector switch tip - $1.25 USD
TOTAL (excluding shipping) - $21.95 USD

Prices from the G&L online store today -
3 pickup covers - 3 x $9.95 - $29.85 USD
3 knobs - 3 x $4.95 - $14.85 USD
1 selector switch tip - $3.95 USD
TOTAL (excluding shipping) - $48.65 USD

I love supporting G&L as much as the next guy, but these prices increased by more than twofold at some point in the past two and a half months.

So, where else can I source these parts from?

Thanks,

Ryan

It is really a matter of personal taste - I actually like the black best. Using the guitar builder, I preferred mint over the white. You may want to try the guitar builder app to get an idea which you would prefer.

Does anyone happen to have any advice regarding this?

For the knobs and selector switch tip, there are a number of parts companies, such as All Parts, which might have them for a lower price.
Search the Internet for guitar parts and I am sure you will find a number of resources.

I believe the pickup covers are unique to the G&L pickups, so you limited to the G&L On-line store and G&L dealers.
