Tribute Legacy versus Tribute S-500

Post by Joost »

Hi, i'm looking for a new Strat in the budget range. I'm in doubt between the Legacy Tribute and the Tribute S-500. I like a rosewood neck and I play blues, rock & pop. I'm wondering what the differance between these two guitars are.

I suppose the mahogany of the s500 makes the guitar heavier and the pick-ups seems to me a bit darker in sound.

Any tips or experiances?

you also have a toggle switch on the S500 that combines the bridge and neck together ... OR ... combines all three pick ups at the same time ..... the Legacy can't do that ...... I have both in USA models and generally prefer the S500 over the Legacy except when playing through my Carvin VT 50 head with V30 speakers , for some reason my Legacy on that amp the clean sound is second to nothing else I own regardless what amp and guitar I pair together
