At the risk of starting what I don't want to become a dancing-on-the-head-of-a-pin discussion ....
I am curious about the Fallout (having 3 ASATs, an S-500, an SB-2 and a Tribute L-2000) and notice that from the original mahogany body, things have branched out to include Alder and Swamp Ash (on the Clear Orange)...
My original leaning tonally was to mahogany but I wonder whether anyone has been able to A/B (or A/B/C) the swamp ash vs. either alder or mahogany (or both) and comment on whether there's any significant tonal variation.
I'm aware of the general differences between the woods and have experience with all 3. I'm most interested in how that plays out with the interesting pickup combination on the Fallout. I'm leaning, if I go there at all, towards a Tribute Fallout rather than a USA, so also interested in thoughts on those who've heard the Tribute humbucker vs. the Duncan JB in the USA Fallout.
Thanks,
Jon

if I remember right ?? (lol) .... there is a video for the ASAT Cat where he uses the same amp and settings , then plays the different guitars where you can hear the tone difference between woods ..... it might even be on page two of the porn now , haven't watched in a while

^^^^^^
Thanks, I found that. It's interesting though not exactly an answer to my curiousity. I think the high res audio is necessary to get a real picture.
Has anyone done a real-time A/B of the Tribute bridge HB and the USA Fallout's Duncan JB? I'm interested in that, too.
Thanks,
Jon
