uhh, saddle lock!?
so i just checked my superhawk because i'm going to adjust the intonation, and i noticed there's NO allen screw in the saddle lock hole..so i checked my ASAT..same thing. WTH? my L2000 has the screw. are these not ACTUAL saddle lock bridges on the Tribute series!? there was this little plastic nub in my superhawk that wasn't in my asat..its just a place holder.

Re: uhh, saddle lock!?
they seem to forget a few screws on the tributes.
my legacy is missing the screw/bushing for the tremolo bar, and my asat is missing the saddle lock bridge screw.
i haven't gotten around to replacing them, but imo they're not really essential to the essence of either guitar

Re: uhh, saddle lock!?
they advertise this as a saddle lock bridge, AKA it needs the screw inside to LOCK the saddles!
craig, any insight into this?? it's ridiculous that they'd cut corners like this despite the fact they're advertising it as a feature you have.

Re: uhh, saddle lock!?
hi jay, I've got a tribute asat deluxe that I bought about 5 months ago, new. the screw is in there. so if you bought a new superhawk, it should be in there too, if not, G&L should send you the missing parts free of cost.

Re: uhh, saddle lock!?
Both the US and Tribute Saddle Lock Bridges should have the Allen Set screw AND the nylon bushing. If you bought the instruments new from a G&Ljayochs wrote:so i just checked my superhawk because i'm going to adjust the intonation, and i noticed there's NO allen screw in the saddle lock hole..so i checked my ASAT..same thing. dealer you should contact them to have the missing pieces replaced under Warranty. If you bought used then you can buy replacements from the
G&L On-Line Store: TENSION SCREW SET.
Hope this helps.

Re: uhh, saddle lock!?
hmm i got them from musicians friend. i'll have to double check, bc i see the threads where a screw should go, but no screw. i noticed my JB2 bass doesn't have them either.
so all my tribute series have NO saddle locking mechanism.

Re: uhh, saddle lock!?
Nope... my brand spanking new Tribute Fallout had no set screw in the bridge. I would have taken it up with the dealer (in the UK) but they were worse than useless so I sourced my own in the end. Tried G&L (US) but they had none at the time...

Re: uhh, saddle lock!?
i emailed musicians friend, and they kindly asked for me to check again, so i sent them pictures showing there's nothing inside
and i even showed them my american L2000 to show them it clearly has a set screw where the rest of these are just empty holes lol
waiting for their response now.

I had that same problem with absent SLB screw on my trib asat special.
I contacted the dealer, Studio Gears in Temecula Calif, and they are getting me a replacement screw!

FWIW I bought TWO tributes from Musicians friend. Serials are 2014. Both had all their parts including the saddle lock screw.

Re: uhh, saddle lock!?
Hey, I'm bumping this thread because I realized that the Allen screw is missing on my Tribute ASAT Deluxe Carved Top. Here's a picture : http://i68.tinypic.com/154u5ww.jpg
I bought it from Thomann (big European retailer based in Germany) in late 2014. I emailed them to ask for a replacement because their 3-year warranty still applies. They answered that they can't send me one because I should have checked when I received the guitar.
Any idea who I should get in touch with to get a replacement? I'd like to avoid buying one because I'm in France and postage is ludicrous.
Thanks!

Re: uhh, saddle lock!?
My used Asat did not have a Saddle lock screw either. Check the sizes and just to go to a hardware store. I think I paid 80 cents for two or something like that. As opposed to paying 25 dollars for shipping from G&L for the set.

Re: uhh, saddle lock!?
From a thread I posted in December of 2014. I paid $1.18 for two set screws from the Hardware store. Maybe its changed since then.
"Oops, details would have been nice. Its the set screw for the saddle lock bridge for my 1986 asat, so it would be imperial. UPS standard, 20.93. International 25.00.USPS Priority Mail international 29.95.Those are the 3 least expensive shipping options given. The rest are too ridiculus to mention. Thanks for the responses BTW, it is appreciated."

Re: uhh, saddle lock!?
I haven't found a replacement screw yet because I'm lazy but I just realized something weird.
The reason why I noticed the missing screw is because I wanted to lower the action a little bit. Right now, I can't lower the saddles because if I turn the tiny screws counterclockwise, I just end up removing them from their hole (the saddles are not flush against the bridge, there still is some room left to lower them). This is what's supposed to happen when the saddle lock screw is tight, right? Is it normal that the saddles are pressed together (the whole bridge is "tightened") even though the lock screw is missing?

Re: uhh, saddle lock!?
There is a nylon bushing which is likely holding the saddles together in the screw hole. See if you can get it out, which should free up the saddles.Hypnonaut89 wrote:I haven't found a replacement screw yet because I'm lazy but I just realized something weird.
