My new Tribute Superhawk in Blueburst!

Post by jayochs »

just got her today! love this guitar. i've got a Rampage and an ASAT Deluxe, but the Rampage stays perm tuned down a half step, and the ASAT was standard...but the ASAT pickups are more for mellow bluesy type stuff, not so much hard rock/metal like the Rampage! so, i decided to get the Superhawk, since it's the Rampage pickup along with a saddle lock bridge and an added neck pickup. I love the specs on the big fat Rampage neck, so this thing plays like a dream! only thing that annoys me is that the nut is actually white, not the black they show in every picture. black would have looked amazing and had an awesome dark vibe to it...WTH G&L?? haha why the sudden switch?!

here's some pics:

Nice! Regarding the nut color, from pictures I've seen on ebay and stuff, seems the usa models come with the white nut, and tributes used to come with black ones but apparently that changed... I personally like the white nut, black is cool too, regardless congrats on your new guitar and rock on!

thanks guys!

yeah, i would have rather had the black nut to have the nice, dark vibe going..plus sometimes i graphite up my nut slots, so like my ASAT looks off white because of that lol, so black would have been better.

the neck is the exact same as the rampage, so it's maple with an ebony fretboard. and i love my JCM2000!

the rampage stays in tune pretty well, which is surprising because i had issues when i first got it where the strings it came from the factory with, they had the pointed portion facing the trem, so it gouged out some metal on my trem and i have a few posts on here showing that...but luckily, years later, it still held up and those gouged parts never broke strings...and honestly, i haven't changed the strings in maybe a year on that thing hahaha i'm too lazy to deal with changing them on the kahler. yet, they haven't broken in that year, and it still stays decently in tune even with divebombs and stuff. the G string is usually the first to go out of tune, though.
