Hey, thanks man, that means a lot!
Neither of those recordings are using any amp, both are using a program called S-Gear 2 - it's absolutely fantastic (as you can hear) - it sounds real, and it feels real. It's the only amp software I've found that actually is comparable to a real amp.
It somehow manages to pick up all dynamics in your playing.
On the first one, the Mack The Knife hackjob - there's two rhythm tracks, both using only the neck pickup, and the stock "American Clean" preset.
The lead guitar is the middle position. Also "American Clean" preset.
The second one, the Unchained Melody hackjob - it's just a backing track on youtube I found for everything besides lead guitar, and the lead guitar is split into two tracks.
First track is using the middle pickup "Roys Dream" preset - this can be quite a hot preset but eh, I don't use a pick on this track so I'm able to get a really wide range of sounds out of this one - this track goes all the way up until the song basically repeats itself with more intensity.
When the song starts the "oh my love" part for the second time (in the normal versions with vocals, lol), I'm using the "American Lead" preset, with a pick. I had to use a pick because I'm not good enough to do the little tremelo/trilly parts without a pick.. I don't know what they're called - you know when you just kinda move the pick up and down really fast on the one note?
I can't do that without a pick.
So yeah you probably didn't need to know all of that information. I'm just saying - there's no amp on either of those tracks, and those are the presets I used to get those sounds.
Cheers mate!
