THE ONE'S THAT GOT AWAY.....

Post by candleman »

I'm farily new to the G&LDP, but what better way to get to know a fellow G&L lover than to share some G&L porn... LOL.

Here's some truly XXX-rated guitar porn for you folks... these I will name "The One's That Got Away"... because I owned each one of these masterpieces... but then (like a dummy) ove time for one reason or another ...sold them. So they are no longer in my herd... (mooooooooooo).

Craig, can you get the guys some drool towels, please... they gonna need 'em... hahahaha....

And lastly, one of all-time faves that I had to let go last year do to financial difficulites. A Clear Natural 1988 Leo Fender Siggy ASAT. She had a beautiful red tint to the rosewood neck... (<<sigh>>) (if anyone sees one of these for sale, please notify me immeiately, regardless of price...)

Wow. You've had some sweet ones. Fortunately I have not felt any remorse over the couple that I've let get away.

That orange ASAT is lovely.

The only G&L I regret selling is my old 3-bolt blonde ASAT, I sold it for the worst reason ever. But I know where it is, and as soon as I have the money I'll be making an offer on it.

It's not always easy to look back, for porn's sake...here's some that got away from me.

I'm not a lefty, but I still miss this one...fat,crisp tone .Somewhere out there is a happy player .

One of the most 'strat'iest sounding guitars I've had, there's something to the late 80's SC-3's.

I sold half a dozen F-100's over the last few years..I found a couple pics that aren't great, I must have lost
the good ones somehow.
A nice player:

Root beer anyone?

A cool longhorn I shoulda kept around:

...and a smattering of sigs. ...sigh ,smile...those were all great instruments:

There have been so many, I loaned(gave) a couple to my brother ,loaned(lost) a few to folks who I thought would be around to give them back ( silly me), gave a blue F-100 and an old Rampage to a friend who helped me move.I'm pretty sure that Rampage is in Finland now...hope my buddy still has it.

I better give the ones here some attention, they get jealous when I'm away too long ;)

Thank you for showing us these gorgeous ladies! I've sold one or two that I've regretted as well. Good luck on the hunt to get your blonde back!

@Elwood
When I was scrolling down, I was ready to comment on the original thread, when that lefty ASAT caught my eye, and I was immediately stricken with GAS...and I'm not left handed.
I continued scrolling, and noticed all the other guitars were right handed...then scrolled back up, and laughed. hahaha, you aren't either...
Its like a beautiful woman can completely through you off your game...beautiful guitars can make us do stupid things...

Very cool collection. How do you like the HB MFDs in the F100s?

@candleman
I've disliked G&Ls clear/trans orange finish since I was 12 years old. I'm starting to come around...beautiful guitars there.

Then you might not want to click on THIS .

My best times with an F-100 have been with the E version (maple body, maple neck). The preamp gives another dimension available to those beasts.

Those are some nice guitars. However, it seems like self inflicted torture to look back.
