How large is the rout in a semi-hollow ASAT Classic?

Post by Case24 »

I was wondering if anyone knows how large the hollow rout is in a semi-hollow ASAT Classic? Are there any pictures from the factory before the top goes on?

The reason I'm asking is I just found out from Dave through Craig that my 2004 ASAT Classic is actually a semi-hollow body, F-hole delete, flame maple cap, exposed wood binding with a black painted top and body. I aways thought that the binding was maple but now I know for sure. It just didn't look like alder. The semi-hollow body explains the under 7lb weight of the guitar. Thanks to Craig and Dave for researching the guitar for me. :)

Thanks Fumble! I also found out that the guitar was originally delivered to Real Guitars in Ft. Myers, FL and some how it found it's way to Canada.

Greg.
This is the only photo i have of semi-hollow route (taken in 2003 pre-CNC):

It should give some idea of the size.

Hope this helps.
