Is the Graph-Tech string tree a new option?

Post by Craig »

I recently saw this on G&L's Facebook page:
Here's a Legacy HB in Gloss Black over swamp ash, wood binding, DFS vibrato, tortoise guard, black Seymour Duncan TB-4, black covers and knobs, ebony board over quatersawn maple, stainless steel frets,
Graph-Tech nut and string tree, matching headstock, model logo delete, locking tuners. CLF072474 is headed to Pawn 1 Music Corner in Spokane, Washington.
The thing that caught my eye was the Graph-Tech string tree:

So I emailed Dave to find out if this is a new option. Here's his reply:
Hi Craig,

We used to install them all the time, but we got so many dealers saying they wanted something traditional, we ended up doing that.
At this point the Graph-Tech tree is an unofficial option: just ask for it and you won’t be charged more as there’s no upcharge code
or dollar amount in the system.

Thanks, Craig!

Dave
As of July 1, 2015 this is now an official option.
