Fishman Fluence pickups

Post by jwebsmall »

Has anyone tried the new Fishman Fluence pickups in any SSS style guitar yet?

It's hard to tell what they are going to sound like from the videos.

I don't care for the sound in any of the videos I've heard so far.

They are hum canceling and can switch between two voices

But you give up the PTB and its flexibility.

I just installed them in my tribute legacy which had the stock pickups, PTB ans S-500 Mod.. They sound great,I like the 2 voices and they don't sound like any active pickup I have ever tried.. I did give up the PTB but I wired it with tone on the neck and bridge and the middle wide open (ala Eric Johnson and Jimmy Vaughan)..

Whatever I lost without the PTB I have gained in 2 nice sounds and no hum at all...

I prefer my stock G&L single coils, along with any nosiness they may have. Actually they are very quiet.

I would rather not sacrifice the ptb system.

I super dig my new flame top Legacy from MF.

It is a great guitar.
