Here are a few pics of her. I've already ordered a black pick guard from G&L and will swap it once it gets here. Not a fan of the Tortoise.

Thanks for looking! Damn glad to be here!

Hey thanks for the link Craig! I looked at the models listed in that thread. While I don't see any actual lefty pics, I assume I can order one of those in lefty. Is that how it works?Craig wrote: Welcome, Nubs!![]()
While there are only a few Tribute models for the Lefty, there are many Lefty US models. See this post in the G&L Knowledgebase: Current G&L Lefty USA standard production Models.
Are you getting your new pickguard from a G&L dealer or the G&L pickguard supplier (Chandler)? Or are you converting your guitar to an ASAT Classic Custom?
The reason I ask, is that the only LH Black pickguard G&L is offering on the On-Line Store is for the US ASAT Classic Custom model (2002-2012) in the Closeouts section.
AFAIK, G&L does not sell pickguards aftermarket (except for the previously mentioned Closeouts).
Anyway, once you get your new pickguard installed, we'd love to see a photo.![]()
Yes, that is the current list of production models which can be ordered and built as a left-handed instrument.Nubs wrote:Hey thanks for the link Craig! I looked at the models listed in that thread. Regarding the pick guard, I actually found the G&L store online where they were closing out the pick guards. I bought the black lefty one yesterday. Hope it gets here soon. Do you know if I can just remove the screws on the existing guard and slide it off? The neck pickup seems that it is screwed into the body underneath the pick guard. Is that accurate? If so, I think I might be able to slide it off and slip the new one on without swapping strings.
Thanks again!
Here's the ASAT Classic Custom (2002-2012):ASAT Classic Custom pickguard. Assorted colors. L/H means lefthanded. Pickup cutout fits jumbo MFD single coil as used on ASAT Special.
Yes, you should be able to remove it that way.Nubs wrote:Yes, you know I noticed that after I bought it. And I realized it after you initially posted about it. I have since contacted Chandler Music to get pricing & availability for one from them. They want me to remove my existing pick guard & read them some number on the back of it.
If I decide to do this, can I remove the pick guard without taking the strings off? It seems to me the neck pickup is screwed into the body underneath the guard. Is that accurate?
Thanks again for the help!
