ebay asat question

The place to discuss, post photos, video, and audio of the G&L products (US instruments, stomp boxes, etc.) produced after 1991, including the amps & gear we use with them.

ebay asat question

Post by oneeyedog »

Hi, apologies if this is the wrong forum page but I was wondering if you guys and ladies could shed any light on this asat model on ebay....it's logged as an ASAT Classic but to me the pups say different!
ebay listing :

This is an original American made Asat not tribute. I think it was made in the 1990's I bought second hand and have looked after the guitar. I love the sound of the Asat classic Telecaster tones , but with more sustain due to the clever bridge design. The G & L pick ups are amazing and they have pure tones as well as plenty of power. I'm only selling as I now have another Asat and one has to go due to over spending on new car. Very sad to have to let this beauty go. There is some a small dink on the front a few scratches on the back a couple of marks on the edge at the back, there are some dinks on the neck, but has been set up and plays great. If you want more information or pictures give me a call. There is no case , but will be professionally packaged.

The body is an ASAT Special and the neck looks to be from a 1997 or 1998 ASAT Classic (due to CLnnnnn S/N, see: Serial number significance).

Hope this helps.

It appears to have a bound top, which is an upgrade. The tuners aren't the standard G&L-branded Schallers. I'm not sure whether they are factory upgrades or after-market.

Machines are Schaller locking-machines. Only the non-locking Schaller tuning machines are G&L branded.

Hope this helps,
