G&L Pickups, Circuits and Electronics in Other Guitars

Hi everyone.

Recently, I came across a Tele-style guitar made by Rick Kelly some time in mid 1990s that had a 1980s G&L MFD pickup in the neck and a black powder coated crinkle finish bridge. Will try to find it again and post a link to the pic.

This had me thinking: Has anyone ever installed G&L electronics into other guitars? Changed the wiring of a standard S-style guitar to that of an SC-3 or S-500? Installed Z-Coils into a Jazzmaster? Placed an MFD into a Gibson?

Would love to hear of your experiences with these hybrids and see pics.
