Fifth set of photos from the Factory for 2014 ...

Post by Craig »

Here's the fifth set of photos for 2014, which were posted on G&L's Facebook page (March 10-22, 2014):
Black Ice Collection ASAT bodies in the paint shop.
Image
Here's an ASAT Bass in Candy Apple red with matching headstock and rosewood board. It seems to us this bass would be cool for just about any gig.
What do you think?
Image
Here's a Legacy Special in Vintage White with a 3-ply Mint guard, black knobs and rosewood board.
Image
Here's a Bluesboy 90 in Tobacco Sunburst over swamp ash with wood binding, pearl guard, rosewood board and clear satin neck finish.
Image
Freshly applied metal flake on a JB body. She can rest tonight.
Image
Here's an SB-2 in Silver Metal Flake with an ebony board and mirror guard.
The plastic film is still on the guard so the full effect awaits its new owner.
Image
Here's a Savannah Collection Bluesboy 90. The character in the Korina tops and Okoume backs is so nice.
[NOTE: that's just the pickguard delivery film on the right side.]
Image
Here's a JB in Redburst over swamp ash with matching headstock, ebony board with inlayed ghostlines and a pearl guard. We love it.
Image
Happy St. Patrick's Day!
Image
Painted heads up!
Image
Patrick has dressed the neck pocket and is now fitting the neck on this Bluesboy Semi-Hollow in Honey over swamp ash with wood binding.
Image
Patrick is soldering in the jack on this Legacy HB in Honeyburst over swamp ash with pearl guard.
Image
Shane is installing pickups in this L-2500 Honeyburst over flame top on swamp ash.
Image
Here's an ASAT Bass Semi-Hollow in Honey over swamp ash with wood binding, matching headstock and rosewood board. It's so beautiful.
Image
Here's an L-2500 in Graphite Metallic with a matching headstock and maple board.
Image
Here's an Invader in Gloss White with matching reversed headstock. It's really nice.
Image
Yummy candy in the paint shop.
Image
Shane is dialing in the bridge pickup height on this ASAT Classic Alnico in 3-Tone Sunburst over alder with wood binding, arm contour and tummy cut.
Pickguard installation is next.
Image
In the Paint Shop: a Turquoise Metal Flake ASAT body has had the tape removed from the binding. It's gonna be sweet.
Image
Here's an L-2000 in Clear Forest Green over swamp ash with wood binding, matching headstock and maple board.
Image
Here's an ASAT S-3 in Clear Blue over swamp ash with matching headstock, maple fingerboard with white pearl dots, 3-ply black guard and
white covers. Though the ASAT S-3 has not been available for years, we agreed to build some just for Midlothian Music in Orland Park, Illinois.
Image
Here's an ASAT Classic S in Clear Forest Green over swamp ash with matching headstock, 3-ply Mint guard and maple board.
Arm contour and tummy cut, too.
Image
Here's a Savannah Collection Junior II. Just look the grain in the Korina top. These Savannah's really knock us out.
Image
Here's an ASAT Classic S Alnico in Butterscotch Blonde over swamp ash, 3-ply black guard, maple neck with Vintage Tint Gloss finish.
Arm contour and tummy cut, too. Mmmm...
Image
Here's a lefty Bluesboy Semi-Hollow in Blonde over swamp ash, tortoise guard, and maple neck with clear satin finish. One sexy southpaw.
Image
Here's a Black Ice Collection Bluesboy. The grain in the swamp ash came out pretty cool, like a fade from one side to the other.
Image
Here's a Comanche Semi-Hollow in Blackburst over swamp ash, black 1-ply guard and covers, rosewood board.
Image
Bass necks ready for finish sanding.
Image
Here's an S-500 in 3-Tone Sunburst over alder, 1-ply black guard, white covers and knobs, rosewood board and clear satin neck finish.

No, no contours on any of the Savannah Collection models.

Still have my eye out for a spanish copper S500. The final adjustment area needs a dropcam so we can all sit and stare all day!

I hadn't known that the body binding on a sparkle could also be sparkle.

The silver sparkle JB in that early stage is almost disturbing. In a way it looks like it is decomposing.

I love these Factory threads.

The Silver Metal Flake faux double-binding is exclusive to the ASAT BassTom Hamilton Signature Model. It does look great in person.

1. Oh that white legacy... Just not with those pickups.
2. I think the SB-2 buyer should be contractually obligated to post a picture of that with the film removed.
3. The last s-500 is gorgeous.
