Heavier strings?

Post by ccwhwy61 »

Have had 10-46s on my Asat Special but would like to try a set of 11's on it. Any problems I should be aware of going to heavier strings such as nut slots and or intonation? Rookie question but are the heavier strings not good for guitar neck? I believe the 10's came standard on the 96 Special. Love the guitar and don't want to do any damage by going to heavier strings, but 10's seem to squish out especially on top two strings. Thanks guys!!

See this post: What gauge & brand of strings does G&L use on their guitars?
And, see this post in the G&L Tech Tips sub-forum: String size and setup question..
Also, search the other posts in that sub-forum as well.

Hope this helps.
