NGD!! Gold Flake LE-2 #25 of 25

Post by gitman001 »

Hey Y'all,

For those of you not sick of looking at LE2 pics, I thought i would share my new baby.... #25 of 25 Gold Flake LE-2.

I have not yet had the chance to plug her in as i am on vacation, but i will say that so far it has hit the mark on all fronts. The fit and finish is top notch, playability is outstanding and she looks even better in person ;)

The depth of the gold flake is amazing, and well worth the wait :happy0065: The colour is really tough to capture.. the last pic was with no flash to try and capture the 3D quality of the flake

I know I'm not sick of looking at them !! ..... beautiful and I totally understand pictures don't do them justice .... I still have no saddle lock guitars till Bcaster comes in , looking at yours makes me want to order a big flake Fallout right now :) ......

do all G&L gloss necks look like the gloss on the LE 2 ?? .... mine are all satin till the LE 2 and ... dang ... these necks are just amazing to look at on the LE 2

A stunning beauty! I could look at that all day.

As for the gloss necks, all the ones I've seen have been similar - very shiny.

Scott,

Agree with everyone else, that is one great looker. 8-)

The balance of color, roasted neck, and big ol' flakes you got a winner!

You are the king of bling, Scott!

I'd love to see one of these with a matching roasted maple body and no pick guard

That axe brings sunshine to a cloudy day. If you show up with that guitar, you better show up with some chops too! Nice!

Scott has the chops. Me, NOT. I guess, I'm just a collector, lol.

Fun though.

How's the neck Scott? I'm hoping it has nice low action on it!!

Damn that looks sweet!

Ditto. I'd be afraid someone would ask me to play it if I showed up with it somewhere.  They would say "there's a flake and his flakey guitar." :shocked028:

Some nice ones you have there Scott!

Hey Guys,

Thanks for the replies :D, as i said I am super happy with this very cool and unique piece of G&L craftsmanship.

Elwood - The Roasted Maple in person is outstanding! It has a vibe that i would say is similar to what G&L did the 25th anniversary mahogany guitars. A little more brown and very rich in appearance

Eric - I have a few other gloss necks and they are all this glossy... I think the dark nature of the roasted maple really bring out the shine

Jag - I will get a tone report up in the next few weeks. I will be home sunday and then have a St Pattys gig on Monday night. The first time i plug her in will be at the gig! I plan on recording out next few rehearsals after that, so i will certainly take the time to follow up and post some vids!

Alf - The neck is outstanding! I am not sure if there is a tech at music source that set up the guitars when they arrived, but the neck and action when I got it was perfect. Great action with the relief set bang on. A real joy to play :D

LOL Yeah Salmon, the first real chance to put her through her paces will be Monday night! I am back from holidays Sunday then have a full day of teaching Monday.... I leave from my last student right to the gig! My amp will be there already - I'll have a few minutes to dial it in :D I am really not to concerned as 100 percent of my gigs for the last 4 years have been played with MFD's and my 25th anniversary has the same bridge pickup. I have a pretty good idea of what she is gonna sound like

Nice! Without seeing it I would have said the dark neck would look weird with the gold, but after seeing it I think it is perfect! Good choice
