The place to discuss, post photos, video, and audio of the G&L products (US instruments, stomp boxes, etc.) produced after 1991, including the amps & gear we use with them.
Hi! Would anyone know where I could buy a G&L legacy deluxe tolex case? I want one for my 2009 as they were not standard in the past. G&L store online says it cannot be shipped internationaly. I am from Quebec, Canada. If anyone got a good idea on how...
It's a bit sad we can no longer have G&L stuff in Canada by means outside ebay or reverb... Cannot find any dealers who have them on the floor or who can just order them. I might order one online one day
I am also i need of a Tolex case for a Legacy guitar. How do you know if a particular case works for a legacy? Is it the same as other G&L S-style guitar cases? I would not want one where the guitar moves around too much or is pressured in the wrong places. I have the most awesome custom Legacy but it came with a very good quality gig bag but I want a Tolex, G&L case for it. I also would like to find a Tolex case for my Nighthawk which came with a generic low quality case.
@Tooslowhand : mate, I just feel dumb for asking... I, for the love of me, never ever thought about it for a second... Maybe it was too obvious for me to think about it, as I got 2 other cases for legacy. Thanks, might help! Maybe I can even have custom color!
@FNTNT : G&L case works for every model I think. Both my S500 and legacy fits in the case. They are great case indeed, and trust me, guitars are in good hands when in those cases. They fit like a glove, no bs! There is even a small resistance when removing the guitar from the case. G&G did an awesome job for those cases! I will definately buy one for my L2000 and one for my Legacy HH. Like Tooslowhand said, G&G might be able to make one! Probably custom too

Thanks you very much!
I don't know about the cases, but Music Centre Canada apparently carries G&L guitars.
I think I said it wrong : in both Montreal and Quebec city, I cannot find G&L on the floor to test - there were many stores 3 years ago but they all closed (yeah, music stores are having a hard time). But it's good to know about Guitar Center Canada. Last time I wanted to order a brand new Legacy, I've done every place around here, and even Quebec city, and there was nowhere who could still order one for me - there were some store who still had some basses, but no guitars (until they told me they couldn't order anymore). Online is a bit less fun to order as if there is any mistake or something, you have no one to rely to make it easier. Yeah, there is always policy online, but dealing with shippings and the like is painful. With a store, always easy to go back and let them handle it. Maybe one day when I'll want a custom order! I guess that's going to be the "future"... do everything online, which is a bit hardcore to cherrypick.

See this for more on the current G&L/G&G deluxe case: G&L/G&G Cases.
Hope this helps.
Thanks for the link Craig. The gig bag I have for my Legacy is one of the high end Reunion Blues bags which are well made and I am sure would protect my guitar in most cases. It just doesn't stack or fit in with all my other cases that are OHSC's. I have not spent any time trying to fit the Legacy into the other cases I have to see what works and what does not work if any. For instance, would it fit into an ASAT case? I just don't want to pay for a custom case because I am sure there are G&G cases out there that will work and was wondering how to tell without physically placing the guitar into the case. Are there model numbers somewhere on them to verify what guitars they fit?

Any thoughts?

The current G&L Universal Deluxe Tolex case will work great for your Nighthawk.
Here's my 1982 S-500 in my 2016 ASAT Classic Bluesboy 90 SH Universal Deluxe case:
Here's my 1990 Skyhawk Signature in the same case, approx. 3/4" space between top of headstock and the left inner lining:
Here's the 2016 ASAT Classic Bluesboy 90 SH:
And here's the same guitar with a piece of dense foam around the bottom strap button to give a snug fit in the case:
For your Legacy to fit in the Universal case, you could do the same thing I did for AC BB90 SH with some dense foam.
