RIP: Walter Becker 1950-2017

Another one has fallen away. Steely Dan has always been one of the most interesting bands with that amazing mix of jazz and rock and a true musicians band.

Very sad.

One of my all-time favorite songwriter and musician. Really expanded my musical horizons from standard pop. RIP.

what a loss. only 67, too. he was the Dan in Steely.
together, he and Fagan created some of the most original and memorable music of the last 50 years.
tonight we were listening to Can't Buy a Thrill on the deck by the almost full moon.
some of the most amazing guitar work on that record by Denny Dias, Skunk Baxter, and Elliott Randall, considering it was 1972.

Major loss. One of my favorite bands. Very savvy in the studio, knew exactly what they wanted and wouldn't settle for less. This is why they did not tour all that much.

Sad loss.
