Hello to all, this is my 1st post, and I truly hope I'm not breaking any rules here!
I recently got my 1st G&L guitar ever and I've got say, I can't look back anymore, I've owned 2 other strats before, a Fender Standard MIM Strat HSS and a 60th anniversary USA Strat Deluxe and most definitely this G&L Legacy axe kicks their asses. I’s super happy!
My main issue is that I bought the guitar used at a shop overseas and I can't really tell, or find, what year it is, what exact color it is (the name of that red), whether it is stock, a special edition or EVEN if it is indeed an original G&L (which it would seem to me it is), since I can’t find anything on the internet.
I wonder whether anyone could and will help me end this pondering. I'm posting some pics below. P.S. don't mind the dust
Thanks a million.

First off , great looking Legacy you have there. Looks like Fullerton Red with a mint pick guard. Probably alder ( due to the solid colour ) and to get the year you would have to remove the neck to check the date on the heel and the neck pocket. I'm going to guess 2004. Welcome to G&L. You choose wisely .

Thanks for the reply, glvourot! I'm gonna have it checked when I take it for a full service and setup!

The finish looks to me to be Candy Apple Red and I see that it was previously registered in our G&L Registry as such. See: G&L Registry entry for CLF24239.glvourot wrote:First off , great looking Legacy you have there. Looks like Fullerton Red with a mint pick guard. Hello, Craig! Thanks for your reply. Two questions come to mind, if you don't mind answering them: how come I was able to register a SN that was already registered? Also, what happens if there's 2 registries, what does that mean and how is that fixed? Thanks a million.

Yes, the same SN can be entered more than once, but when you enter the SN you should have seen that it was already entered and then should have edited the existing entry.svarsaugth wrote:Hello, Craig! That way any previous owner listed in the existing entry is automatically notified that the entry was changed. This is a safeguard in cases where someone edits the wrong serial number.
Here is the reason that same SN can be entered more than once:
In the case of those entries which are flagged as possible duplicates [marked with (!!!!) next to the serial number], I will search the database for the other
duplicate to see that entry and if the other instrument is a different MODEL I will email the current owners of each asking for a photo of the serial number of each. It is very rare to have actual duplicate serial numbers
but they do exist. If the previous duplicate entry is for the same MODEL, I will add any info which is not on the new entry to it. If the original entry still has a current owner, I contact that owner to make sure they are no
longer the owner. Once that is resolved, I remove the original entry so that only the new entry remains in the database.
Hope this helps.
