I bought a Legacy.
It wasn't either of those that I posted about previously, this was a pure impulse buy... I bought a 3-bolt 1993 sunburst Legacy with a maple fingerboard off of eBay (sunburst over Alder, I'm assuming), purely because I believe in the mojo of the entirely hand-built 3-bolt G&L guitars built by the exact same tools Leo used at pre-CBS F*nder. The pickups were either changed or seem to be the flat pole piece SD SSL1s used in 92-93 as per Leo's insight before he died in 91 (I think, I read that somewhere, it might be false). I have no idea of fret health, or of weight (the seller never responded to any of my messages, but shipped the guitar right when I paid), but from the minimal photos that were posted (which I will post below) it looked like a pretty good deal, and my compulsion to buy guitars kicked in. I am now in debt, but I have a feeling it will be worth it!
I paid $1100 Canadian shipped (which comes out to around $830 USD) with hard case (I don't know about the trem arm though).
For reference, my choices were between three maple-necked Legacy's, the one I ordered, and a beautiful 2010s 4-bolt see-through Blonde Ash Legacy (which was $1300 CAD, a bit high) and a mid-90s 3 bolt Legacy in black Alder, but had some worrisome rust on the bridge (for $1200 CAD).
The fingerboard edges on this guitar, curiously, do not look rolled, and one of the saddles seems crooked, but I'm hoping that won't cause any issues.
I will post another thread when I receive the guitar.
My girl is going to kill me.
